FAQ

What to do BEFORE your airbrush tan…

~Shower, Exfoliate, and Shave-

~Come to your session with dry, clean skin. Remove any moisturizer, body lotion, perfume, deodorant, make-up and sunscreen. Each of these acts as a barrier to your skin and will not allow the solution to react to skin thoroughly.
~You must properly exfoliate your skin. Pay attention to your knees, ankles, feet, knuckles and any other dry areas. Do not use highly moisturized soap it can act as a barrier for the solution to set in.
~Wax or shave prior to your session. Because waxing/shaving naturally exfoliates  your skin, it is best to these prior your spray.

What to wear while tanning…
~Wear loose-fitting clothing and sandals. The solution will not stain your clothing, but wearing light weight cotton works best. Please avoid tight fitting dresses or strapless dresses that contain elastic. You do not want anything tight that may leave marks on your body. If any solution gets on your clothing, it can be machine washed. No white clothing until you after your first shower.

What should you spray in…
You may receive your “new tan” wearing the garment of your choice.  Many choose to go fully naked, yet wearing  underwear or bathing suits work great. (*Please note: Men must wear undergarment or bathing suit.) Anything you do wear WILL leave an immediately tan line.

Do not moisturize before coming to spray tan…
Do NOT moisturize the morning of your session. Moisturizer prevents the solution from soaking into your skin.

How long does it take for the tan to show up? It varies from skin type to skin type. However, due to the cosmetic bronzer in the solution, you will immediately be a shade darker after our technician sprays. It takes 6-8 hours for the solution to fully settle in.

Getting Married? We recommend having at least two test runs to assure you have the perfect color for your wedding day. It is recommended to spray a bit lighter due to photo shop and color enhancements with digital photography.

What to do AFTER your tan…
~Avoid any strenuous activity or showering for 8-10 hours. Avoid any washing or rinsing. You need the solution to fully set in your skin. Avoid very hot showers, baths and chlorine. These factors can speed up the exfoliation process.
~Avoid tight clothing that may cause chafing which will cause tan to rub off for 8-12 hours. If any solution appears on your clothing it will wash out of most fabric. Please try to avoid silk, nylon, wool, and polyester. Wear darker colored clothing until after your first shower.
~After 6-8-10 hours (depending on which solution is used) you can then safely shower and moisturize.

~Moisturize daily to keep tan looking healthy and glowing. (We have tan-extender lotion you may purchase.) Remember: Do NOT moisturize until after your first shower!
~The bronzer will wash off after your first shower. Do not be alarmed this is normal.

~The more you exfoliate your skin, the more your tan will diminish. The less you exfoliate the longer your tan will be visible.
~Be careful using other sunless tanners that contain alpha hydroxy acids (A.H.A.s).  Coloring may vary. It is best to try a small amount of lotion to make sure the color matches correctly.
~Airbrush tanning does NOT provide sunscreen protection. It is important to protect your skin everyday.
~Avoid wearing warm boots that you may sweat and exfoliate in immediately after your tan.
